Heath Ledger Posthumous Oscar Buzz

Movie reviewers are blown away by Heath Ledger’s performance as The Joker in Batman: The Dark Knight due for release in 2 weeks. There’s talk that Heath Ledger found dead in his apartment from an accidental drug overdose earlier this year, may receive an Oscar nomination for the 2009 Academy Awards to be held in January next year.

Says co-star Christian Bale who stars as Batman, “Heath has done a phenomenal enough job that I would not be surprised (if he won).”

Only seven actors have received posthumous Oscar nominations, including Spencer Tracy for 1967’s Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner and James Dean, who was nominated twice after his death for 1955’s East Of Eden and 1956’s Giant.
