The Dark Knight Box Office Takings Cross US$500 Million
It’s official – The Dark Knight has made over US$500 million in gross box office earnngs according to this report. And this is only for domestic box office takings. While The Dark Knight took only 6 weeks to make over US$500 million, the all-time top grosser, Titanic took more than 3 months but still holds the record at US$600.8 million.
Although The Dark Knight has yet to make highest earner as expected: The Dark Knight set to become biggest grossing movie, studio execs pointed out that factoring in today’s increased ticket prices, the actual amount earned by The Dark Knight going by the same number of ticket sales as Titanic would have been $900 million. Absolutely mind boggling!
