Critics groan but an Indiana Jones 5th movie with Shia LaBeouf as Mutt Williams being the lead character instead of Indiana Jones is being discussed among the movie franchise creators Steven Spielberg and George Lucas.

Given the success of the previous movie, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull that grossed over $318 million in the US and $770 million worldwide, with more earnings expected from DVD sales, making another Indiana Jones movie was only a matter of time.

George Lucas told Fox News, “I haven’t even told Steven or Harrison this, but I have an idea to make Shia (LeBeouf) the lead character next time and have Harrison (Ford) come back like Sean Connery did in the last movie. I can see it working out.”

Said 66-year-old Harrison Ford, “It’s crazy but great, George is in think mode right now.” Shia LaBeouf is excited about this, he told MTV, “I don’t think a Mutt spinoff would be as big as Indiana Jones, (but) fingers crossed!”
