Beverly Hills Chihuahua Tops Box Office

And this is the reason why Hollywood makes the movies it does - you never know which one can make millions. Disney’s family comedy that features a talking dog Beverly Hills Chihuahua is number one at the box office this weekend for the second straight weekend making $17.5 million or $52.5 million in 10 days.

It beat the competition, Quarantine - a horror flick ($14.2 million) and terrorist thriller Body Of Lies ($13.1 million) headed by A-listers Leonardo di Caprio and Russell Crowe.

Studio execs say that given the recent economic situation, people want to see a movie that will make them feel better which is why Beverly Hills Chihuahua did so well.
