Madonna And Guy Ritchie Divorce Confirmed
Sad but unavoidable - Madonna and Guy Ritchie announced their divorce on Wednesday after months of denying rumors that their marriage was in trouble: Madonna’s Marriage Fine Says Guy Ritchie’s Mom, Can Kabbalah Save Madonna’s Marriage.
Although Madonna was romantically linked to New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez and was blamed for his divorce, they have always maintained that they are just good friends with many believing that the story was to promote Madonna’s Sweet And Sticky Tour: Madonna And Alex Rodriguez Affair Just A PR Stunt.
Still, the couple tried to work things out with Guy Ritchie throwing a lavish 50th birthday party for Madonna and she supporting him at his recent movie premier: Madonna Joins Guy Ritchie At RocknRolla Movie Premier.
The couple issued a brief statement by their representatives Wednesday, asking for respect from the press for their family’s sake.
A financial settlement has not been agreed by the wealthy couple, who also must decide child custody issues. The couple is reportedly worth $525 million, the bulk of that belonging to Madonna. Ritchie has an estimated $35 million and they own homes in Los Angeles, New York and the UK.
Will this turn into another long-drawn ugly celebrity divorce? You’d think that Madonna being the money savvy businesswoman that she is, would’ve gotten a pre-nupt inked.
