Friend Courtney Cox will star in Cougar Town, a new ABC comedy series where she plays the role of a newly-single 40-something mom.

Her own brilliant TV series Dirt was stupidly cancelled a while back: Courtney Cox Dirt TV Series Cancelled and this role sees her back in a sitcom.

“Forty-year-old women on TV are so beautiful and perfect and wrinkle-free,” the show’s creator, Bill Lawrence, told The Hollywood Reporter. “People don’t do the reality of it, and there is a real comedy area about a woman who is talking about Botox, about having sex with the lights on and how her body is changing.”
