OJ Simpson Sentenced To 15 Years In Prison
Could be celebrity gossip news depending on how you look at it. He got away with murder before but now OJ Simpson will be in jail for 15 years for armed robbery, conspiracy to kidnap and assault with a deadly weapon. The sentence was passed on Friday.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry for all of it,” a choked up Simpson, 61, told a Las Vegas, Nevada judge before his sentencing. “I didn’t mean to hurt anybody and I didn’t mean to steal from anybody.”
OJ Simpson, a former football star and actor was acquitted of the murders of his wife Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman, in a sensational Los Angeles trial 13 years ago. But somehow he managed to throw out his second chance with this incident.
Along with an accomplice Clarence Stewart (who was also sentenced to 15 years), OJ Simpson led memorabilia dealers Bruce L. Fromong and Alfred Beardsley to believe a prospective buyer was coming to their casino hotel room to browse sports memorabilia in September 2007. Simpson and his co-horts rushed into the room with guns, stuffed the memorabilia into pillowcases and fled. This was recorded on cameras.
