Paula Abdul Gone From American Idol?

Paula Abdul

Following the suicide of an ex-American Idol contestant: American Idol Stalker Dead Outside Paula Abdul’s House, rumours have it that Paula Abdul may not be returning to American Idol at all. Paula Abdul criticized the show’s producers for letting the late Paula Goodspeed audition when Paula Abdul told the producers not to as she knew that Goodspeed was her stalker. She told a radio station, “I said, ‘This girl is a stalker of mine. Please do not let her in.’ Everyone knew. I was shaking.”

Then American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe said he did not remember Paula Abdul saying that. “[Goodspeed] had been through an audition process with the producers, an audition process with the executive producers, and we were wheeling her in as a huge fan of Paula Abdul,” Lythgoe said. “This is what we knew: She was a great fan, she was a lovely girl. And a great fan of Paula.”

“This is three years ago,” he said. “I honestly say I can’t remember the conversation. If Paula said, that’s what she said, I believe her. We’ve seen over 700,000 contestants. And one has made a terrible, terrible mistake. If you’re an odds man, they are great odds.”

“I’m not angry with Paula,” he said. “I think Paula’s in a position of: ‘It wasn’t my fault,’ and reaching out from that point of view. For her family’s sake, it should really be dropped.”

Latest sources reveal that Paula Abdul is considering not returning to the show at all, she’s dissatisfied with the producers of “American Idol” and upset with Simon Cowell (“he’s like a family member you can’t get rid of”).

She has her own TV reality show, Rah! Paula Abdul’s Cheerleading Bowl and jewelry line and doesn’t see the need to put herself through the stress of American Idol.

With a fourth judge for the upcoming season: New Judge For American Idol Season 8 Revealed, Paula’s parts in the audition tapes could be easily edited out before the show starts.
