American Idol To Be Revamped
Reports are emerging that there will be changes made for American Idol Season 8 in terms of format. This follows the addition of a fourth judge: New Judge For American Idol Season 8 Revealed, rumours that Paula Abdul won’t be returning to the show when it airs: Paula Abdul Gone From American Idol.
Among the changes are the show will air fewer audition weeks featuring “fewer bad singers and more ‘aspirational’ singers”; instead of a Top 24, the show will feature a Top 36 which will eventually be narrowed down to 12.
A wild-card round will allow eliminated contestants a chance to make it back into the top 12 finalists.
“Idol Gives Back” the charity telethon will be cancelled.
American Idol Season 8 is due to be back around 20 January next year.
