Slumdog Millionaire Grabs Golden Globes

Golden Globes 2009

As expected, Slumdog Millionaire, about a young man in India whose arduous life unfolds during his stint on his country’s version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, was named best dramatic picture. It also took home the 2009 Golden Globes Awards for its director Danny Boyle, as well as for its score and screenplay.

Biggest individual winner was Kate Winslet who won both Best Dramatic Actress for Revolutionary Road and Best Supporting Actress for The Reader, beating out veterans such as Meryl Streep.

The biggest comeback story belonged to Mickey Rourke whose career died out in the 80’s won Best Dramatic Actor.
