Poor Jessica Simpson! After being in celebrity gossip news for her weight gain: Jessica Simpson Weight Gain Gossip, she’s in the news again, this time for having a meltdown onstage during a concert.
Jessica Simpson opened for Rascal Flatts in Grand Rapids, Michigan on Thursday night during which she lost her place in several songs including “Pray Out Loud,” which the band had to start over after several measures. And then “Come On Over,” where she mouthed “sorry” to the monitors.
“Her energy level was low, especially when singing her more upbeat songs, ‘These Boots Are Made for Walking’ and ‘With You,’” an eyewitness tells Usmagazine.com.
“Most of the concert she spent looking straight into the crowd or had her back to the audience to compose herself.
While singing “With You,” she “paused during the middle of the song to take a drink of water while her backup singers took over the lead vocals.”
While singing “Forgiveness,” she turned away from the audience to compose herself as she began to cry. “Dear God, help me get through this tonight,” she said. “You probably just heard me say that; I have a weak voice and I’m feeling vulnerable tonight.”
The audience, thankfully were generally forgiving, cheering her on with words of support. “I felt bad for her tonight,” one fan said, “Magazines are ripping her, being so harsh, and she’s gorgeous.”
