American Idol 8 Top 13 Results
Since there is an extra contestant for American Idol 8, two were kicked off in the Top 13 results show. America got it right – the bottom 4 were Megan Corkrey, Jasmine Murray, Anoop Desai and Jorge Nunez. Finally though, it was Jasmine and Jorge who were kicked off.
Jorge looked absolutely sad when he had to stand at the centre stage with Anoop but managed a courageous smile at the end.
A new twist was added to American Idol 8 with a thingy called Judges Save where the judges can unanimously overturn a vote result if they think the contestant who got kicked out deserves to stay on. However, they can only do this once and up to the last 5 contestants.
I think this is a good move seeing as how America can sometimes screw up and vote out someone really good as evidenced in previous American Idols where Chris Daughtry was voted out too early on.
Special guests Kayne West and the original American Idol Kelly Clarkson performed. Kelly remarked that she felt as though she was going to be judged on her performance.
The remaining American Idol Top 11 finalists are:
Adam Lambert, Danny Gokey, Alexis Grace, Michael Sarver, Kris Allen, Allison Iraheta, Lil Rounds, Scott MacIntyre, Megan Corkrey, Matt Giraud and Anoop Desai.
