300

While waiting for Pan’s Labyrinth to come on, I saw the trailer for “300″ full screen for the first time. I’d seen it online before but was still blown away by it. Powerful, epic and majestic, “300″ has an animation or illustrative quality about it not only because it is based on Frank Miller’s graphic novel but that it aptly brings out the historical fantasy aspect of it. Except that this was based on an actual historical event during Sparta times.
These images are not storyboards. They are movie stills. The scenes are so stunningly beautiful, its cast so perfect, the sets and costumes so detailed, you would have to see the film twice to be able to absorb the the enormous visual tapestry. Just watching the trailer was an experience in itself, what about the entire movie? Can’t wait for it to start.
