Madonna Adopts Again
Many Hollywood celebrity gossip sites report that Madonna is in Malawi to adopt another child following her adoption of son David Banda.
Followed by dozens of reporters, Madonna walked around in Chinkhota, a village near the capital of this AIDS- and poverty-stricken southern African country, holding the hand of her 12-year-old daughter, Lourdes.
At one point, she spoke to the villiagers about building a school and was shown an artist’s impression of the proposed school building by Chief Advisor of Pediatric Care for her Raising Malawi Charity, Dr. Eric Borgstein.
But reporters were more interested in her impending adoption of a 3 year old girl, Mercy James whose parents have died. Madonna told Malawi’s The Nation newspaper that she was considering another adoption but would only do it if she had “the support of the Malawian people and government.”
