American Idol 8 Top 7 Results Matt Giraud Saved
In the American Idol 8 Top 7 results, Matt Giraud received the lowest number of votes but the judges used their one-time only veto to save him from elimination. This means that 2 contestants will be going home next week.
Together with Matt, Lil Rounds and Anoop Desai were in the bottom 3. Anoop was sent back to safety first and Lil dodged a bullet because if she had been the one with the lowest vote, I’m sure Simon Cowell would not use Judges Save for her, given her mini tirade after her performance the day before.
In fact, Simon doesn’t seem too keen to save Matt but the crowd is chanting, “SAVE SAVE SAVE” and both Paula and Kara are bugging Simon to save Matt, so he does but not before he gives Matt a reality check by saying that Matt doesn’t stand a chance of winning the competition. But then he tells Matt, “it’s good news” and everyone goes wild.
Simon cuts the celebrations short by saying “I wouldn’t be so quick to congratulate him,” because 2 people are going home next week and the theme is disco which means Matt Giraud could be in trouble again. Ryan Seacrest says, “Thanks for the buzzkill”.
Special guests were Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Hudson.
