American Idol top 12 girls
These four girls are the outstanding performers last night. The second and third girls, Sabrina Sloan and Melinda Doolittle are professional singers and it shows. Overall, the girls are millions of miles ahead of the pathetic top 12 guys.
Stephanie Edwards (first girl) started off the competition with an electrifying performance that set the bar so high, the other girls just could not match up till Sabrina Sloan, a professional singer came on. She has all the makings of a commercial pop star, something that Melinda Doolittle lacks, even though Melinda, a background singer, has an amazing voice. Her mousy personality just disappears when she starts singing and despite her having loads more talent than other contestants, she is humble to a fault.
The last girl, Lakisha Jones has the most powerful voice of all, but I feel it is too much all about power and not enough subtlety although she is Simon Cowell’s favourite. He wanted to tell the other 23 contestants to book their plane tickets home. The other 3 girls have a better tone of voice and are more commercially marketable than Lakisha.
