American Idol 8 Top 7 Results Lil Rounds Anoop Desai Voted Out

Lil Rounds and Anoop Desai have been voted out of American Idol 8 in the American Idol Top 7 double elimination results show. Matt Giraud who was voted out last week but saved by the judges was not in the bottom three. Shockingly (or not), Allison Iraheta was in the bottom 3.
The show starts off with the American Idol Top 7 performing and dancing “Shake Your Body Down To The Ground” by Michael Jackson in a number choreographed by Paula Abdul who shows that she hasn’t lost her touch. Everyone has sunglasses on except Adam Lambert – wonder why?

Then Lil Rounds is called up and swiftly dispatched with. There is no bottom 3 line up!

Next is the disco tribute from guest performers Freda Payne who sang “Band Of Gold” – is this disco?? – Thelma Houston who sang her monster hit “Don’t Leave Me This Way” and she harasses Simon Cowell a bit with her song, then KC from KC and The Sunshine Band sang “Get Down Tonight”. I heave a sigh of relief after this is over – it was quite painful to watch and listen to.

Anoop Desai is sent to the sit at the bottom 3 stools first. Matt Giraud and Allison Iraheta are called up together and Matt escapes bottom 3 but there is no doubt in my mind that it would be Anoop who is going home.
Then American Idol runner-up David Archuleta performs “Touch My Hand” – a boring, forgettable song but he’s very nice and gives some words of encouragement to Anoop and Allison.

The remaining American Idol 8 Top 5 are Adam Lambert, Danny Gokey, Kris Allen, Allison Iraheta and Matt Giraud. Next week’s theme is songs from The Rat Pack – Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr and Dean Martin.

I too felt my skin crawl when the guest performers sang disco. When Thelma Houston went off stage to harass Simon, I thought he would freak out – not so much from the harassment but more from the ghastly singing! Was I glad when it finally ended!
Despite the fact that Anoop and ‘Lil were slammed almost every episode, they kept an admiringly good attitude for the most part
