Daughtry “No Surprise” American Idol 8 Video
Rocker Chris Daughtry returned to the American Idol stage for the first time since he was a contestant in Season 5 to perform his band’s new single “No Surprise” from their upcoming second album.
If this song is the best they have on the album then I can safely say the album will most likely suck.
Chris says he remembers “vividly” when he was voted out of Idol and felt his world came to an end for about 30 seconds before recovering.
Chris is solid proof that you don’t need the American Idol title to make it big. He’s probably the most successful male ex-contestant of the show but fellow rocker David Cook might have a chance of over taking him.

Didnt like his performance at all. Thought his voice during AI days was much better.
All-in-all, I thought the performance was great. I don’t expect Chris to deliver perfect vocals everytime he opens his mouth. He’s only human and that performance was good enough to get me psyched for the new album. The rest of the band was awesome, too.
I thought they were amazing, as usual. I have seen Daughtry 17 times and met each member of the band. They are incredibly talented and amazing people. I thought it was a great performance!
