Kris Allen “Apologize” MP3 Video
Kris Allen sang “Apologize” by OneRepublic for American Idol Top 3 Judges’ Choice chosen by Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi. Randy says he picked the song for its big range while Kara says she picked the song for its “dark, beautiful melodic lines”. Kris plays the piano for this one.
I think this is not a very good song choice for him because it’s too close to what he sounds like and he will have trouble creating his own take on the song. He also has some trouble with the high registers.
Randy Jackson says “Right now its about who’s here’s what I love…you could have a song like this on the radio…nice very nice.” Kara DioGuardi says, “I think it was a really competent performance…but you need to hit it out of the park…I wanted you to make it more of your own.” Paula Abdul says, “It sits in the right place in your voice..there was a bum note there that was loud…but I’m so proud of you.” Simon Cowell says “You can’t choose a song for him, and then blame him for doing the song. It was a competent version of the song…you should have worked out the arrangement…you aren’t holding up your responsibilities.”
