It will be an Adam Lambert Kris Allen American Idol Finale next week. Danny Gokey has been voted out in the American Idol 8 Top 3 Results show.
This is the biggest upset this season thus far. Almost everyone has been expecting an Adam Lambert – Danny Gokey show down.
Over 88 million votes were cast and Ryan Seacrest said only about 1 million votes separated the top 2 contestants.
The American Idol 8 Top 3 Results show opened with some pimping for the movie Night At The Museum 2 by Ben Stiller and his fellow co-stars.
There was a whole hour to kill, so they showed the top 3 contestant’s homecoming videos.

The contestants were called onstage one by one, their performance critiques were read out and then sent to sit on the couch. Just 5 minutes before the show ended, the 3 were called back onto centrestage.
Ryan announces the first person to qualify for the American Idol Final is Kris Allen. He is as shocked as the rest of us.
The audience is chanting, “ADAM! ADAM! ADAM!”
Ryan announces the second person to qualify for the finals is Adam Lambert. Danny Gokey is OUT.
Kara DioGuardi says, “Oh my god, Danny”.
Simon Cowell says the finale will be what is known as a “big ding-dong” – which is Brit for a big showdown, I presume.
Now THAT’S must-see TV.
