Kris Allen Wins American Idol Season 8
After almost 100 million votes, Kris Allen wins American Idol 8. Adam Lambert has been the top favorite to win but since the other front runner Danny Gokey is not the finals, Danny’s fans voted for Kris just to make sure that Adam won’t win.
Kris Allen’s first words when he was announced as winner: “Adam should’ve won this.”
The rivalry between Adam and Danny fan bases is a well-known and long drawn one and even though Google Trends shows far more searches for Adam Lambert than any other contestant, ultimately Adam’s single fan base is no match for Danny and Kris’ combined voters.
The only downside for Kris winning, he has to sing that awful American Idol winner’s song “No Boundaries” again.
I like Kris over Danny because Kris is more original but Adam Lambert has definitely been robbed. Still, his career is going to be much bigger than Kris Allen can ever hope to have.

I have to say that this is one of the best American Idol episodes that I’ve ever watched! Now I’m left with having to hear people say “Has the best won?”. I am pleased with the outcome. Chris is such a humble guy and a great singer. I believe his only downfall may have been the fact that he’s a little more mellow for what American Idol was hoping for.
They really needed a different kind of contestant to bring the popularity back to the show. It is to bad that we’re left to wonder if Chris won due to the picture posted about Adam. If they would have pulled Adam off sooner…would Chris of been the winner?
HA! I knew Disney, and “Corporate America” would NEVER allow a gay person to win AI. No wonder Simon is not returning next season…he’s fully aware that the show is RIGGED! Disney got burned last year when David Arculeta didn’t win (they had a new expo, and big money tied up in promoting him, before he lost AI). Now, we have a right winged, married Idol? Wow, can’t get much safer than that! And, I was dumb enough to think this was a talent contest? Nope, saw that one coming a long time ago! Kris will wind-up in a good “Christian” rock band after his 1 year AI tour. Adam will go on to achieve fame and fortune…based on his exceptionally talented vocal abilities.
Adam should have won. Adam’s performance on the finals was way much better than Kris’. Lucky for Kris Danny’s fans voted for him. I think that Adam’s career will be more fruitful than Kris’.
Adam’s the real winner of AI 09′ and everyone knows it. He didn’t need to take the crown, he’s had the title since the top 13.
