New Orleans Wants Brad Pitt For Mayor
The city of New Orleans wants Brad Pitt to be its mayor – at least a group of the people there do. Brad Pitt has spent the past few years rebuilding houses in areas devastated by hurricane Katrina with his Make It Right charity that has funded the building of 15 houses so far and 135 planned by next year.
A grassroots movement have been campaigning for Brad to be mayor with some cool T-shirts bearing a graphic of Brad Pitt with the slogan “Brad Pitt For Mayor”.
The movement started with Tulane art history professor Thomas Bayer posting a tongue-in-cheek list of reasons why Brad Pitt should become mayor, with one of reasons being, “If we elect Brad Pitt mayor, Angelina Jolie would be the First Lady of New Orleans.”
A local t-shirt maker saw that and decided to whip up some “Brad Pitt For Mayor” t-shirts and it gained momentum from there.
When asked by Today’s Ann Curry if he would run, Brad Pitt said, “Yeah, I’m running on the gay marriage, no religion, legalization and taxation of marijuana platform. I don’t have a chance.”
