Inglourious Basterds Tops Box Office

The Quentin Tarantino movie “Inglourious Basterds” topped the weekend box office with $37.6 million. Starring Brad Pitt, the Nazi-era movie follows a group of Jewish-American soldiers whose mission is to take down a group of Nazis.
It is the biggest opening for Tarantino since “Kill Bill Vol. 2″ which took in $25.1 million.
Second is the alien sci-fi thriller “District 9″ with $18.9 million.
Juvenile action movie “G.I. Joe” had another successful weekend coming in third with $12.5 million.
Romance book turned movie “The Time Traveler’s Wife” starring Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana is fourth with $10 million.
Meryl Streep’s and Amy Adam’s film ‘Julie & Julia’ is fifth with $9 million.
