Michael Douglas Is Liberace In New Movie

Liberace

Veteran “Wall Street” actor Michael Douglas will play the iconic pianist Liberace in an upcoming biopic that also stars Matt Damon as his gay lover, Scott Thorson.

Hollywood celebrities gossip news rumors say the 63-year-old will camp it up as the flamboyant Las Vegas performer who died of aids in 1987.

The movie is directed by Steven Soderbergh who worked with Michael Douglas on the film “Traffic” and Matt Damon in his current movie, “The Informant”.

Scott Thorson, Liberace’s lover sued him for $113 million in palimony following a bitter split in 1982. Liberace denied he was gay until the day of his last breath.

In fact, in 1957, the classically-trained musician successfully sued Britain’s Daily Mirror for suggesting he was gay. Liberace was livid when veteran Mirror columnist Cassandra (Sir William Neil Connor) described him as “fruit-flavored.”

Liberace and Thorson settled the suit for $95,000 in 1986.
