Boyzone Member Stephen Gately Dies At 33
Boyzone member Stephen Gately, 33 died while on holiday in Mallorca, Spain. Hollywood celebrities gossip news rumors sites reported that Gately, who was at a Spanish holiday resort with his partner, Andrew Cowles, died after having a few drinks.
“It looks like he went out for a few drinks, then got back, fell asleep and never woke up,” a friend was quoted as saying.
The 5-member Boyzone was put together by pop impressario, Lou Walsh who also created Westlife and was one of the most popular and successful boy bands with six number 1 hits but split up when lead singer Ronan Keating went solo in 2000. They reunited for various performances in 2007-08.
Stephen Gately caused a sensation when he came out as gay a decade ago as Boyzone’s main audience was teenage girls. He and Cowles were married in a civil union in 2006.
The other members of Boyzone are expected to fly to Mallorca.
