Stephen Gately Mourned By Thousands
Boyzone singer Stephen Gately who died suddenly last week in a holiday resort in Mallorca, Spain has been laid to rest. His fellow Boyzone members were pallbearers with Ronan Keating paying a moving tribute with his song, “This Life” while over 3,000 fans listened to the church service outside.
“We have lost our brother and I’ve lost my wing man,” said Keating, “He will live on in our songs and whenever us four are together his spirit is alive. For Stephen we’ll carry on, but it will never be the same without him. A beautiful man who is now the perfect angel. Forever young and never forgotten. A man, a friend, a brother, a son, a husband and a hero.”
The post-mortem for Stephen Gately, 33 said that he died from natural causes, reporting pulmonary oedema or fatal build-up of fluid in the lungs brought on by a heart attack. Police said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
