Paris Hilton starts jail term 2 days early
Paris Hilton reported for jail on Sunday at 11.30pm – 2 days earlier than scheduled. She has a jail cell all to herself because of her celebrity status and so far has not interacted with other inmates. It’s 12×8 feet with a bunk bed, a toilet and wash basin. There are two windows – a little one in the door, and one on the wall that overlooks buildings.
Paris Hilton had attended the 2007 MTV Movie Awards just hours earlier where she sat and smiled stoically while the host made her the butt of jokes. Hilton’s lawyer, Richard Hutton said that reporting to jail earlier was Hilton’s idea as she did not want a media circus made out of the event and just wanted to start her sentence quietly. She will get 1 hour a day to be out of her cell to shower, watch TV and talk on the phone.
