Survivor China kicks off
Survivor China is set on the Lake of a Thousand Islands in some remote part of the country. We are getting the telecast in Singapore just one day late, so that’s not bad. It’s also a little alarming how in tune we are to the US. I don’t know the cast members names yet but they include some pretty interesting characters defined by their occupation.
A couple of interesting ones are the “school lunch lady” and “professional poker player”. The show started with the cast going into a temple to partake in a welcoming ceremony which called for them to postrate themselves with their faces near the ground and leave all of their worldly possessions behind – meaning their luggage. This “Christian radio deejay” couldn’t bring herself to kneel to a non-christian deity and came out of the temple crying. I wonder how she is going to last through the game.
