Tony didn’t die says Sopranos creator
So unless you’ve been living under a rock, the season finale of the gangster TV series The Sopranos ended rather suddenly. But in case you HAVE been living under a rock, see the video above and you’ll see why it left fans with a near heart attack and more conspiracy theories than 911. Many think that Tony got whacked.
Series creator David Chase has broken his silence on the matter. He says that Tony DIDN’T get whacked as he was munching on his onion rings. “There WAS a war going on that week, and attempted terror attacks in London,” says Chase. “But these people were talking about onion rings.”
Some of the theories by fans give the ending a much deeper meaning with clues that reference The Last Supper as suggested in the video below. Chase says, “There are no esoteric clues in there. No `Da Vinci Code,”. He says that what you saw or didn’t see is what you get.
He deems the inconclusive ending as appropriate and even hopeful. “Originally, I didn’t want any credits at all,” says Chase. “I just wanted the black screen to go the length of the credits - all the way to the HBO ‘whoosh’ sound. But the Directors Guild wouldn’t give us a waiver.”
