Amy Winehouse cancels tours, seeks rehab
Could Amy Winehouse finally be seeking help for her drug problem? After her concert at the Brighton Centre where she looked frail and was almost incoherent during her performance, she left her hotel and was seen wandering in the rain on the streets for a few hours before catching a cab with a friend back to London.
The troubled singer then headed to the London Clinic to see a doctor wearing the same clothes she had on the night before. Amy Winehouse has cancelled all remianing tour dates for the rest of the year. She has been out of control since her husband was imprisoned on charges of interfering with an investigation.
The Sun quoted her as saying, “I can’t give it my all onstage without my Blake. I’m so sorry but I don’t want to do the shows half-heartedly. I love singing. My husband is everything to me and without him it’s just not the same.” He is expected to stay in jail through December.
Her label adds:
“Amy Winehouse has cancelled all remaining live and promotional appearances for the remainder of the year on the instruction of her doctor. The rigours involved in touring and the intense emotional strain that Amy has been under in recent weeks have taken their toll. In the interests of her health and well-being, Amy has been ordered to take complete rest and deal with her health issues. Her family has requested that the media respect Amy’s privacy at this time. There will be no further comment.â€
