Top 6 girls are Amanda Overmyer, Ramiele Malubay, Carly Smithson, Kristy Lee Cook, Brooke White and Syesha Mercado.

Top 6 guys are Michael Johns, David Archuleta, Jason Castro, David Cook, Chikezie Eze and David Hernandez.

Here are the results of American Idol Top 16. For the girls, Kady Malloy and Asia’h Epperson are out. For the guys, Luke Menard and Danny Noreiga are out. No surprises here but we’ll miss our divalicious Danny.

Am I going crazy or is America getting it right every time on this season’s American Idol?

My fav rocker Amanda Overmyer sings Joan Jett’s monster hit, “I Hate Myself For Loving You” on the American Idol Top 16 show. If it’s possible, Amanda Overmyer’s version of this song beats even Joan Jett’s original.

I can see Amanda Overmyer took greater care in song selection this week, picking something that’s popular. Great song choice although I wish she could do something more true to herself ala Joplin-esque stuff cos that’s what she did during the auditions and she still hasn’t got a performance to rival her auditions. I really hope Amanda Overmyer makes it into the Top 12.

Love her cleaner, original Amanda Overmyer look instead of last week’s ghastly Kiss-meets-Elvira-meets-Cruella deVille look. General consensus is that Amanda would look great with blonde hair but I wonder if it would clash with her goth look.

Something seemed to be bugging her as she was more than her usual unexcited self even though she received raves from the judges. Wassup, Amanda?
