Carole King clone Brooke White picks an unlikely song choice for her American Idol Top 16 performance. Brooke White sings rocker Pat Benatar’s “Love Is A Battlefield”. Still, it’s good that she doesn’t fall into the trap of always singing Carole King/Carly Simon songs.

Underdog David Cook does a good, dark and edgey version of Lionel Richie’s ultimate shmaltz “Hello” on American Idol Top 16 Performers.

David Cook’s performance stands out because he dared to give his own interpretation of a well-known song and ends up being surprisingly creative.

Front runner in American Idol Season 7 David Archuleta sings “Another Day In Paradise” – by Phil Collins. He even plays the piano this time. Not too crazy about his song choices but he sings it well although this time round, the judges aren’t as enthusiatic over his performance. Maybe they don’t want to influence votes too much. David Archuleta already has a huge fanbase support as it is.
